Council Changes.

Hi all,

After a discussion with the council, i desided to try and give a go to some council changes.. Members can apply to the council without having a specific duty.
However not all members can apply and not all applications will be accepted.

If you are applying you must be an active member in the alliance.. The council members are the OPC leadership, and we need them to participate in discussions that affect the collective and it's future. Someone who never was heard from or contributed anything to OPC discussions wouldn't be accepted.

Also as the council is Senior members, we will prefer members that have been with the collective for a while and we all got to know each other. Preferably you should have a referense from an acting Council member.

Finally council members should be ready to put the collective interests before their personal interests when need arises.. and without being asked to do so specificly. If it means replacing a sector admin who for one reason or another retires, or just temporarily unable to be around, or if it means adressing someone on the behalf of the collective in the Ambassador's absense etc..

In other words.. If you apply for a senior membership you should be willing to actualy be a Senior member and not just listed as one

one question though, do you have a limit on senior council members and if so will the vote on who gets accepted lie solely with the council or will there be a public vote?

for example: 10 people apply, theres only 2 spaces. the council shortlists 4 pilots, then these 4 pilots could get put to a vote to chose the final 2?

just thought itd be a nice way to get everyone in the alliance involved and make the forum more active as candidates could post why they think they would make a good senior members. i suppose it would almost be like a general election.
but this may take up to much time which could be sorted easily be council members

1 - No, council positions are not limited.. but like i said before, becoming senior member means one should act as a senior member and not only be listed there. In oposit case they would lose the position.
Basicly the position is offered for people who allready act as seniors ans just never had an active duty for them in the council.

2 - The voting will be done only by council members, and there will be a Veto option if a sufficient reason can be presented.

This is currently a tryout for this idea.. since there is a difference of opinions as to how things should be handled.. If it's better to have small council where all members have an active duty, or should it be open to all members who may deserve it.

I want to emphasise once more that the offer is for members who allready think and act as Senior members, meaning - The success of the OPC is their goal, and if need be they will assist it.
